Hello *|FNAME|*,

Thanks for taking a few moments to read our update. Lots is going on with my return to Honduras and the new school year starting, enjoy!

After finishing up remodeling work on an old house in the morning and playing with grandkids midday, Martha took me to the airport in the afternoon. I took the adventurous route home, i.e. "going cheap" on Spirit Air, taxi & bus. That meant arriving in Honduras at 1 am and waiting for daylight and thus, relative safety. I looked forward to naps on the plane but they didn't happen. A giant squeezing me on the first flight and a noisy, kicking kid behind me on the second made me feel like I was in a commercial. Waiting at the airport till 4:30 am was fine, got lots of computer work caught up. I enjoyed the taxi ride, the driver was talkative and interesting. Finally had a little sleep with 3 nice naps on the 2 hour bus ride to our town. A quick lift by a friend and I was home at 7:30 am. My little doggies were as happy to see me as I was them!

It's so hard to express the feelings of being back home. Countless hugs by the kids at the schools are hard to beat. Seeing them notice my arrival and dropping what they are doing to run to me: reminds me of grandkids! I struggled with how to start Bible classes so I prepared nice, new lessons. When it came time, the lessons all morphed into praising God with songs and reminders of God's love for them along with their responsibilities to respond correctly. So wonderful!

How awesome to do church in person instead of via video call. It seemed God wanted me to teach about Elijah and the prophets of Baal & then him running from Jezebel & being cared for by God while hiding. Seemed weird but turns out lately our Deaf have seen some real video going around of other Deaf being murdered, decapitated. Brutal stuff and has it has some of them spooked. Teaching them in spite of life's perils, that God has the desire, power and concern to protect them was just what they needed. It pays to listen when God speaks.

Martha's recuperations are coming along well. Her wrist surgeon has cleared her to return to Honduras, thanks to God. Her orthopedic Dr gave her an epidural in her neck last week and wants her to continue therapy for a little while longer. The cardiologists cleared me to return, saying my arrhythmia is not life threatening. I'm trying some various medicines for a month at a time till summer. Without Martha down here, I just enjoy my 2 big girl friends and my 56 lb puppy (pictured) as well as stay busy with all the classes & church. And building some new furniture, and... I like busy.

The 4x4 SUV fund is coming along, with a couple more gifts. We have 10% of the $35,000 so far, thanks to God. Don't know where all this money will come from but we trust God that he'll be sending it along, so we can effectively reach the Deaf for His glory. John 15:16 "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

Thanks for your prayers and support - we are all in this together for God's glory. If you'd like to participate financially or maybe contribute a special gift for the car, just click on this button DONATE or mail a check to the address below. Thanks again and may God continue to bless you!
